Rob O’Donnell was born and raised in New York City and began his career as a NYC Transit Police Officer in 1992 merging into the NYPD in 1995. Rob was promoted to Police Officer Special Assignment in 1997 after being chosen by the Police Commissioner as one of the departments top performers, and then to Detective in 2000 where Rob worked for the departments Organized Crime Control Bureau, Precinct Detective Squad, retiring out of one of the departments Homicide task forces . During his career Rob had been involved with the 93 World Trade Center Bombing, the response/recovery on September 11th, and is the only First Responder in America involved with four domestic terrorist incidents.

After retiring due to injuries sustained in the line of duty to Northeast Pennsylvania in 2004. Rob was also involved with the investigation of the Fort Dix terror plot suspects in 2007, and in November 2020 was called by his Son, a Navy Student Aviator that he was in the midst of an active ongoing active shooter at Naval Air Station Pensacola where he was assigned.

Rob is a Board member for the Pipe Hitter Foundation, founded by U.S. Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher, the Director of Media Relations for a National Police Charity, as well as an Ambassador for the National We Back Blue organization, where he utilizes his expertise as a 30 year Public Safety professional as a national law enforcement media contributor and analyst often appearing on Fox News, NewsMaxTV, OAN, WBAL Radio Baltimore, WMAL Radio DC, 990 The Answer Radio Philadelphia, Nationality Syndicated Tony Katz Show Indianapolis, The Dana Show with Dana Loesch on Audacy, LawEnforcementtoday.com, Town Hall Media’s Hot Air & Bearing Arms, the American Conservative Union CPAC, The Blue Magazine, & the former NRATV

Rob is Married to Lisette for 28 years and has three grown children, Gavin a United States Naval Academy graduate and a Navy Strike Naval Aviator, Kayle who is in her third year of a Pennsylvania State University BSN Nursing Program, and Madison who is the only woman in Northeast Pennsylvania to be accepted to all three Service Academies, Air Force Academy, West Point, and the Naval Academy, currently following in her Brothers footsteps as an Annapolis Midshipmen.
