
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is looking to fill approximately 120 positions during hiring event this afternoon, September 9 from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM. This PennDOT hiring event will take place at the Luzerne County PA CareerLink office,32 East Union Street in Wilkes-Barre.
Jessica Ruddy, the Community Relations coordinator for PennDOT told WILK that they “expect many retirements over the next two years and are looking for people looking for a career, not just a job.”
PennDOT is looking to hire qualified candidates for Transportation Equipment/CDL drivers.
“(PennDOT) needs 100 CDL drivers for winter-seasonal positions”, which Ruddy says, “can go full-time permanent.”
PennDOT is also looking to hire approximately 20 additional new employees in the following categories:
· Auto Mechanic
· Semi-Skilled Laborer
· Tradesman Helper
· Diesel & Construction Equipment Mechanic
· Radio Dispatcher
· Custodial Worker
· Stock Clerk
· Clerk Typist
· Civil Engineers
