Affidavit Reveals New Details in Great Wolf Lodge Double Homicide Investigation

Pocono Police Department

POCONO TWP., PA — Newly unsealed court documents provide additional details following the arrest of a 27-year-old Towanda woman accused of stabbing her husband and three-year-old son to death inside a guest room at the Great Wolf Lodge.

According to an updated criminal affidavit filed by Pocono Township police, officers responded to the Scotrun resort on Oct. 12 after Metallica Rose Harrison called 911. Dispatchers reported that Harrison requested help dying and stated that her husband, Charles Harrison, and their three-year-old son were "already gone" on the beds in the living area.

Responding officers found Harrison with self-inflicted wounds and discovered the bodies of her husband and child, who both suffered fatal chest stab wounds. Inside the room, investigators recovered two knives—a butcher knife on the bathroom floor and a smaller knife on the sink. Both weapons featured distinctive teal green handles, which resort management confirmed were not property of the lodge and are believed to have been brought from the family's home. Authorities also seized medication bottles and containers containing suspected blood.

During police interviews and witness statements detailed in court records, investigators described Harrison as controlling, noting that she managed the family's finances and isolated the household. Records show the family checked in on Sept. 21 and extended their stay through Oct. 13 after utilities were shut off at their Towanda home. Lawn care providers noted they had not seen the family in a month.

Harrison faces two counts of criminal homicide. She remains held at the Monroe County Correctional Facility without bail while awaiting a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge.
