The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has issued a "Code Orange Air Quality Action Day" warning for all counties in the WILK listening area. The advisory is in effect for today due to smoke from wildfires in Central Canada, which is now impacting air quality across the region.

A Code Orange alert indicates that air pollution concentrations are unhealthy for sensitive groups. The DEP advises that young children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions such as asthma should limit their time outdoors.

The DEP advises those groups to limit outdoor activity. Real-time air quality data and safety tips are available at www.airnow.gov
