The Harveys Lake Borough Council met last night to discuss a 100% property tax hike. Council members blame an increase in insurance and unpaid garbage fees. The council opted for a 30% tax increase and a $400,000 no-interest loan from an area bank. It would be the first tax increase for Harveys Lake residents in 11 years. According to reports, the new budget will be displayed at the borough building and on their website for ten days before any voting action can occur.
