MOOSIC, Pa. — The long-vacant site of the historic Rocky Glen amusement park has been sold to two local business partners who plan to restore its signature water feature before pursuing future development options.
Shawn Walsh, owner of Montage Motors in Minooka and SW Walsh Properties LLC, and Rich Conte, owner of Conte Paving in Moosic, acquired the 203-acre property for 2.5 million dollars as a long-term investment.
While the partners stated they do not yet have definitive plans for the land, their immediate priority is environmental restoration. They intend to rebuild an old, degraded dam on the site to fully restore the 33-acre Rocky Glen Pond, which serves as a major focal point of the property.
Future development remains open-ended, though the property's layout offers significant flexibility. According to Conte, approximately 60 percent of the former amusement park site is zoned for commercial use, while the remaining 40 percent is zoned residential, giving the duo a wide variety of development options once the initial lake restoration is complete.
