Candidate's hearing in suit against Luzerne Co. abruptly halted

In Luzerne County Court, a hearing on Jamie Walsh's election suit was abruptly halted when an attorney representing the county and the county election bureau announced he was filing a request to move the case to federal court. According to a published report Attorney Mark E. Cedrone said the request to a federal venue was prompted by the plaintiff’s assertions of Constitutional violations. The attorney representing the county election board, the remaining defendant, told the three-judge county Court of Common Pleas panel the board was not seeking movement to federal court. The civil suit, filed on Friday, seeks an order requiring the county to process remaining voter registrations and mail ballot applications.
