No one was injured Tuesday when an excavator partially tipped over while its operator was working on the demolition of a building in Wilkes-Barre, According to reports, Fire officials were was called just after 1pm to the intersection of George Avenue and Trethaway Street, in the Parsons Section of the city. Wilkes-Barre Fire Chief Jay Delaney said the excavator went into the cellar of the building being torn down and “tipped to the left.” The chief said the operator of the excavator exited the construction vehicle and no one was injured in the incident. After crews determined there was no danger to the nearby residences, tenants were allowed back into their homes.
