All three Lackawanna County Commissioners are calling on the District Attorney to investigate what they call an environmental disaster. Today, Bill Gaughan, Matt McGloin and Chris Chermak are asking Mark Powell to probe the recent release of massive amounts of sediment into the Roaring Brook Reservoir and Lackawanna River. Pennsylvania American Water owns the dam and has been doing a rehabilitation project. The commissioners say the sediment has polluted the river and is a potential public health threat to residents. The DEP has been conducting it’s own probe. See the full letter to the Lackawanna County District Attorney's Office HERE.
