Dallas Area grad lies about a deadly school shooting that never happened

A former Dallas High School student is facing backlash after falsely claiming to be a survivor of a mass shooting that authorities say never happened.
Calvin Polachek, now a graduate student at the University of Louisville, told a crowd at the Kentucky State Capitol in February that his brother, best friend, and nine others were killed in a 2017 shooting at the Pennsylvania high school. His emotional remarks were quoted by local media.
However, school officials, police, and classmates have since confirmed no such incident occurred. News outlets have retracted or edited their stories, and Polachek's former peers have criticized the falsehood on social media.
Polachek has not commented publicly.
