Data Center Developer Demands Recusal of Entire Archbald Council

Attorneys representing Wildcat Ridge have filed motions requesting the complete removal of all seven Archbald Borough Council members from deciding the fate of a proposed 574-plus-acre data center campus in Eynon and Sturges.

The developer, tied to Brooklyn-based Cornell Realty Management LLC, argues that the council members cannot act as impartial judges regarding the project's conditional use application. To support their claims of deep-seated bias, Wildcat Ridge's legal team cited public social media activity, including comments made on platforms like Facebook and a councilman’s wife's reaction to a social media post about the development. The motions call for every sitting council member to recuse themselves from all future proceedings.

The aggressive legal tactic arrives as Archbald Council prepares to convene its ninth conditional use hearing on the controversial data center project this afternoon at 5 p.m. inside the Valley View High School auditorium. The multi-property development, which sits above Business Route 6 and extends up Wildcat Road, faces ongoing scrutiny and opposition from area residents.
