A Dickson City woman is facing a litany of felony charges following a death investigation that began late last year. Christina M. Harvey has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter, neglect of a care-dependent person, unlawful restraint, and endangering the welfare of a care-dependent individual, according to court documents.

The charges stem from the death of Brandy Harvey, an 18-year-old woman who required significant medical assistance due to a seizure disorder and limited mobility. Emergency responders were first called to a home on Carmalt Street on December 10, 2025, where they found the victim unresponsive. Although she was rushed to Geisinger Community Medical Center, she later passed away.

A criminal complaint details a pattern of neglect and exploitation. Investigators allege that Christina Harvey failed to provide the necessary medical care and supervision required for the victim’s survival. Furthermore, the affidavit of probable cause suggests a financial motive; authorities claim Harvey misappropriated the victim’s Social Security benefits, using the funds for personal expenses instead of the specialized care and equipment the 18-year-old required. Harvey is currently awaiting further legal proceedings in Lackawanna County.
