DUNMORE, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that the Dunmore Driver’s License Center will temporarily close for nearly a month to undergo extensive facility and site improvements.
Located at 81 Keystone Industrial Park Drive, the center will close at the end of business on Saturday, Oct. 24, with full site closures taking effect Monday, Oct. 26. The one-month closure will allow contractors to execute a series of site upgrades, including repaving the parking lot, installing new curbing, and upgrading stormwater control systems. The facility is scheduled to reopen to the public on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
PennDOT officials confirmed that individuals with driver's skills tests scheduled at the Dunmore facility during the closure window will be contacted directly by agency staff to reschedule at nearby locations.
To assist regional drivers, PennDOT is expanding staffing and operational hours at nearby centers in Tunkhannock (600 Hunter Highway) and Honesdale (18 Collan Park). Both locations will operate Tuesday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., offering full driver's licensing and photo services throughout the Dunmore closure period. Customers can also access routine driver and vehicle services 24/7 online.
