An early morning fire broke out shortly after 3 a.m. at the Sherman Hills Apartment Complex in Wilkes-Barre, forcing dozens of residents from their homes. Firefighters responded to the scene and managed to contain the blaze to a single unit within the building.

Despite the fire being confined to one apartment, authorities reported that at least 30 surrounding units were affected by smoke and water damage. The incident resulted in the displacement of approximately 60 residents from the complex.


Representatives from the American Red Cross responded to the scene to assist those who were displaced, providing temporary emergency aid and resources to the affected families. Emergency officials indicated that the cause of the early morning fire remains under investigation.
