The husband of vice president Kamala Harris, visited Lackawanna and Luzerne counties Monday to campaign on behalf of the Harris-Walz campaign. Doug Emhoff campaigned door to door in Scranton, and visited the Lands at Hillside Farms in Kingston Twp, before speaking before about 100 supporters at King's College in Wilkes Barre. Throughout his speech, Emhoff touched on a number of campaign points that Harris has mentioned, such as a $50,000 tax deduction, growing 25 million new small businesses in her first term, and more affordable housing.
Donald Trump Jr. is scheduled to appear in Lackawanna County on Saturday. Rep. Dan Meuser's campaign announced Monday night that Trump Jr. will appear at the "Get Out the Vote Fall Festival" at Montage Mountain, Meuser will join Trump Jr., U.S. Senate candidate Dave McCormick, U.S. House candidate Rob Bresnahan and other guests "for an afternoon to help elect conservatives to Congress. The event begins at 1 p.m. and includes live music, food, kids activities and more.
