Two acres were burned by a brush fire in Lackawanna County Wednesday evening. According to reports, the Newton Ransom Volunteer Fire Department Chief says they got the call for a brush fire around 7:30 p.m. on Fawn Hill Lane in Newton Township. Crews were able to put out the flames quickly, but high winds made putting out the fire made it a little more difficult. No word on what caused last night’s brush fire in Lackawanna County.
