A woman from Columbia County has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of tax evasion, bank fraud, and aggravated identity theft. Federal prosecutors say 60-year old Linda Tarlecki of Aristes, was an employee and Township Supervisor of Conyngham Township, when she embezzled approximately $160-thousand dollars in township funds from 2013 through 2017. Court documents say Tarlecki wrote checks to herself from the township’s bank account and forged the signatures of other township supervisors on the checks.
