Hazleton City officials say there is no tax increase in the proposed budget for 2023. The budget proposal was given to the coordinator of the Act 47 recovery plan, the Pennsylvania Economy League. Mayor Jeff Cusat says the balanced budget will keep the property tax millage rate at 6.78 mills and it was turned into them earlier than scheduled for review. City Council will review the plan at their last public council meeting in November.
