Heavy rains and flooding caused significant damage in Honesdale on Tuesday. The borough in Wayne County saw more than 3 inches of rain yesterday, causing flooding that damaged a church, flooded basements and collapsed a drainage system that forced several people to evacuate the Wayne Inn. Interim Honesdale Borough manager Kevin Kundratic says "it could take us days to assess the damage throughout the borough." The storm system that brought that heavy rain and flooding also spawned a tornado in Bangor, located in Northampton County, according to the National Weather Service.
