Investigating shooting death of 8 year old in Luzerne County

An early Monday morning shooting in one part of Luzerne County continues to be an ongoing police investigation. It happened around 3am in the 500 block of Fellows Ave in Hanover Township. An 8 year old girl died from injuries. Authorities are working with the Luzerne County DA's office, Pennsylvania State Police Troop P, and the Wilkes-Barre Records & Identification Unit to determine what led up to the fatal incident. The girl was a student in the Hanover Area School District and officials are offering district support to faculty, staff or students who may need it. Police say this is an isolated incident.
