Luz. Co. judge to decide whether teen faces murder trial as adult

After a hearing yesterday, a Luzerne County judge is expected to have a decision within the next few days if a Luzerne County teen will continue to be charged as an adult or move to juvenile status. Alan Meyers faces charges of criminal homicide. He is accused of killing 17 year old Kassadey Matulevich in August of last year in Butler Township. He was also 17 at the time. At the hearing yesterday, defense witnesses stated he would benefit from rehabilitation programs offered if he is charged as a juvenile. If he continues to be charged as an adult he could face life in prison. He is currently being held in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility
