President Biden announced four federal judicial nominees today and one of those is from Lackawanna County. Judge Julia Munley has served as a judge on the Court of Common Pleas of Lackawanna County since 2016. Judge Munley was previously a trial lawyer and partner at Munley Law in Scranton. If she is appointed by the US Senate, she would fill the vacancy of U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania which was created when Judge John E. Jones III retired in 2021.
