A prominent Luzerne County attorney and former longtime mayor of Kingston has passed away. Jim Haggerty died Wednesday at the age of 58, just four months after disclosing he had an aggressive form of cancer. Flags in Kingston have been lowered to half-staff and “black bunting” to signify mourning will be hung at the Kingston Municipal Building and fire department headquarters.
