The Broadway Street Bridge in Luzerne County was shut down Thursday afternoon. Crews closed the bridge connecting Nanticoke and West Nanticoke. County officials say the decision to shut down the bridge was made as a result of a recent inspection that saw advanced structural deterioration. The weight limit on the bridge was lowered to five tons back in May of 2024. There is no word yet on how long this closure will last.
