WILKES-BARRE, PA — A Luzerne County judge sentenced 37-year-old Fernando Bracero to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Monday following his conviction for a fatal 2024 stabbing in South Wilkes-Barre.

The Wilkes-Barre resident received the mandatory state sentence after a jury found him guilty of first-degree murder during a July trial. Prosecutors proved at trial that Bracero fatally stabbed 33-year-old Scott Knox in an alleyway following a botched crack cocaine deal.

Bracero was remanded directly to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections to begin serving out his life sentence.
