Local election results- Many candidates still waiting on mail-in and absentee ballot counts

Many candidates are waiting for absentee and mail ballots to be counted in their races before they concede. In Luzerne County, a staffing and funding shortage means there are 11,000 mail-in ballots that still have not been counted. That count continues this morning.

Republican Lou Barletta conceded the race for Governor and thanked those who helped his campaign. As of now it looks like Doug Mastriano is top vote getter and will face Josh Shapiro in the fall. Mastriano will be joined by Carrie Delrosso in the Lt. Gov spot while on the Democratic side it will be Austin Davis Democratic Lt Gov. running with Shapiro

In the race for the open Senate seat in the Commonwealth...The vote count between Mehmet Oz and David McCormick is still too close to call. Current  Lt Gov John Fetterman won the Democratic nod.

8th Congressional District Republican Jim Bognet was the top vote getter against Mike Marsicano. Bognet will now face Incumbent Democrat Matt Cartwright will face The district encompasses all of Wayne, Pike, and Lackawanna counties, along with portions of Luzerne and Monroe counties.

In the 113th District, Kyle Donahue is the winner over Patrick Flynn on the Democrat ticket. Donahue faces Republican Aaron Sepkowski in November.

In the 116th Legislative District, Republican Dane Watro Jr. leads the crowded field of candidates vying for the opportunity to go up against Democrat Yesenia Rodriguez in the fall. Republicans running to challenge her in the fall are, John Chura, Michael Larocca, Nico Makuta, Dyllan Ogurkis, Gary Perna Jr and Watro Jr. The 116th District covers Hazleton, West Hazleton and Hazle Twp. in Luzerne County and the Schuylkill County municipalities of McAdoo, Mahanoy City, Ringtown and Shenandoah boroughs and the townships of East Union, Kline, Mahanoy, North Union and Union. The seat became vacant when Republican Tarah Toohil was elected to Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas in the last general election. In a special election in April, Republican Robert Schnee won and will fill the seat to the end of her term.

In the 117th Legislative District, Republican Mike Cabell was out in front of the 4 other candidates, followed by Clint Lanning, and Eugene Ziemba.

In the 118th Legislative District, . Democrat Jim Haddock has a slight lead over Allison Lucarelli and on the Republican side James May is leading John Lombardo . The newly redrawn district covers part of Lackawanna County, including Moosic and Old Forge. It also covers part of Luzerne County, including Avoca, Dupont, and West Pittston.formerly represented by Mike Carroll who retired

119th Legislative District, Republican Alec Ryncavage is leading when all the precincts were counted, however challenger Tom Williams is waiting for all the absentee and mail in ballots to be counted. The winner faces Democrat Vito Malacari in November. The District includes Nanticoke, Mountain Top and Hanover Township.

121st Legislative District Incumbent Eddie Day Pashinski and Republican Eryn Harvey will meet again in the November general election.  She most recently served as Luzerne County Deputy Election Director. The 121st Legislative District includes Bear Creek Village, Laurel Run, Wilkes-Barre and the townships of Bear Creek, Buck, Plains and Wilkes-Barre.
