Moosic officals say no to proposed drug rehab center

Officials in Moosic have voted not to grant a special exception permit to a proposed drug rehab center.  According to reports, the no vote came following a heated debate over Ridge Valley Recovery looking to open the center on Birney Avenue. Center advocates claim the center would be therapeutic one, and wouldn't administer medicine, but many did not want the facility in their backyard.   Moosic Mayor Bob Bennie said there are several other locations within the borough that would better suit the therapeutic rehabilitation center.
