A mother and son from Lackawanna County have been formally charged with election fraud offenses after allegedly tampering with ballots given to other voters. Kathie Sico and Michael Sico turned themselves in on Monday to face serious charges of fraud by election officers and forging and destroying ballots.
According to reports, the charges stem from accusations that the Sicos, who were reportedly involved in the election process, added a specific write-in name to ballots cast by other Lackawanna County voters. Following their surrender, Kathie Sico was released on a $10,000 unsecured bail, and Michael Sico was released on a $15,000 unsecured bail. The case remains under investigation by local authorities, and a preliminary hearing for both defendants is scheduled for December 1 in Lackawanna County.
