A mother is now behind bars charged with the death of her severely disabled adult son. It was almost 5 years ago that skeletal remains were found wrapped in a burned blanket when fire crews responded to a shed fire at East Mountain Ridge Mobile Home Park in Plains Township. The fire was ruled arson. Extensive forensic testing determined the remains were that of 24 year old Shain Donofrio. After a lengthy investigation, evidence showed a pattern of neglect and lack of care that eventually led to his death. Investigators say his mother, Linasheri Donofrio, had kept his body in the home for at least 5 months before burning the remains in the shed. She is now in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility with a preliminary hearing set for next month.
