A pair of brothers from Stroudsburg are facing charges, accused of assaulting law enforcement during the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol. 31 year old Matthew Valentin and 26 year old Andrew Valentin face felony charges. Prosecutors say the brothers are on video as part of a crowd of rioters who rushed the police line. It’s alleged Matthew had a baton and spray canister, grabbed a police officer and sprayed an irritant into a group of officers. Andrew Valentin allegedly threw a chair at police officers, striking the shield of one of them.
