An arrest has been made in connection with an ongoing child pornography case involving a local gymnastics teacher. Details have been released by Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce. In December 2022 and January 2023, the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office received information about the potential download of child pornography. A search warrant was executed by Pennsylvania State Police Hazleton, Luzerne County and West Hazleton Detectives, and members of the Northeast Computer Crime Task Force at the home of Andrew Neafie of Fairmount Township in Luzerne County. Investigators say they found thousands of the files on his computer. He is charged with 1thousand and eight counts of Sexual Abuse of Children. He's being held in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility with a hearing set for next month.
