WILKES-BARRE, PA — Commonwealth Health announced a new clinical partnership with Northeast Radiation Oncology Centers (NROC) on Thursday, expanding specialized radiation oncology services at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Under the agreement, NROC physicians will oversee clinical operations and provide medical leadership for the radiation oncology program at the Commonwealth Health Cancer Center, located at 575 North River Street on the hospital's campus.
During an announcement ceremony Thursday, Commonwealth Health President Michael Clark described the collaboration as an important milestone in the health system's ongoing efforts to enhance clinical specialty care in Luzerne County. Clark emphasized that the partnership aligns with the network's strategic objective to reestablish and expand Wilkes-Barre General Hospital as a leading community health provider throughout the Wyoming Valley.
The integration connects patients directly with NROC's regional radiation oncologists, broadening local access to advanced cancer treatment protocols and outpatient therapies within the hospital's specialized oncology facility.
