New property valuations to be mailed out in Lackawanna Co.

Homeowners in Lackawanna County will soon see their new property valuations. According to reports County officials say the appraisal contractor is near completion of the first county wide reassessment in nearly 60 years. Nearly 50,000 new valuations will be mailed on Friday and another 50,000 will be mailed the following week. Reassessments of commercial properties are ongoing. The county said they are expecting a crush of appeals and will establish four auxiliary appeals boards to hear cases.
