Hundreds of people turned out in both Wilkes-Barre and Scranton for the day of protest against the current administration and its policies. While the demonstrations were largely peaceful, an incident in Wilkes-Barre led to an arrest.

Authorities confirmed that one man was taken into custody at the Wilkes-Barre rally for allegedly flashing a gun to protestors. The individual was driving a Jeep decorated with Trump flags. Following the arrest, the vehicle was towed away from the scene by police.

The gathering in Scranton, and the remainder of the Wilkes-Barre event, proceeded with a carnival-like energy, a characteristic of the national "No Kings" movement. Participants, many sporting creative attire and crowns reading "No Kings," cheered and rallied for democratic principles and against what organizers describe as authoritarian policies. The rallies in the region were part of a coordinated national day of action that saw massive turnouts in cities and towns across the country.
