Pennsylvania's firearms deer season is set to conclude this Saturday, December 13, with the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) urging hunters to make the most of the final days of the season. This year marked a historic shift for hunters across the Commonwealth, as the fall hunting season included a total of 13 Sunday hunting opportunities—a monumental expansion made possible by the new law repealing Pennsylvania’s longstanding ban on Sunday hunting. The PGC noted that the expanded Sundays, which included two dates during the firearms deer season (November 30 and December 7), provided a significant boost to hunter participation. Game Commission Executive Director Steve Smith praised hunters for the exemplary safety record maintained during the 13 Sundays, noting there was not a single safety incident reported involving a hunter and a non-hunter, reinforcing that hunters and non-hunters can safely share Pennsylvania's outdoors.
