new state law will soon require all Pennsylvania high school students to complete a financial literacy course before graduation, with some local schools already preparing to implement these crucial life skills lessons ahead of schedule. The new requirement will present challenges for many Pennsylvania schools, as several institutions currently don't have dedicated financial literacy courses in place. Instead, these schools typically incorporate financial principles into other subjects, like social studies. Financial literacy education will become mandatory statewide beginning in the 2026-27 school year.
