Pennsylvania health officials reported a continued rise in measles cases across the state, with the total reaching nearly 600 confirmed infections across dozens of counties, according to an update issued Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH).

As of September 8, 2026, state health authorities confirmed 594 total cases spanning 37 counties. The latest data reflects a steady surge, with 17 new positive cases identified since September 4 alone.

The state’s tracking metrics highlight significant medical complications associated with the outbreak. According to the DOH, approximately 17.5% of all infected individuals have required hospitalization, and public health officials have confirmed two "measles-associated" deaths tied to the ongoing spread.
