A Pittston man remains in custody following a violent home invasion and assault in Hanover Township early Sunday morning. Hanover Township police arrested 37-year-old Nicholas Brian Lynch after responding to a distress call on Graham Avenue just after 2 a.m. According to investigators, Lynch illegally entered a residence and assaulted two individuals before fleeing the scene. Officers located Lynch shortly after the incident and took him into custody without further escalation.
Lynch faces a string of serious charges, including felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass, along with misdemeanor counts of simple assault, strangulation, and harassment. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for arraignment before District Magistrate Tupper, who denied bail. Lynch is currently being held at the facility as he awaits a preliminary hearing, which has been scheduled for February 25 at Luzerne County Central Court.
