Scranton police are investigating a Tuesday evening shooting that left one person wounded in the city’s Hill Section. Officers were dispatched to a residence on Clay Avenue around 6:30 p.m. following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, emergency responders located one victim who had been shot, though authorities have not yet provided an update on the severity of that individual's injuries or their current medical status.
The investigation centered heavily on the area behind the home, where approximately a dozen police officers were observed working along Costello Court. Investigators used caution tape to block off the alleyway while they processed the scene and collected evidence. As of Tuesday night, officials had not confirmed if a suspect was in custody or if any arrests had been made in connection with the violence.
