ARCHBALD, Pa. — Discussions surrounding a proposed 400-megawatt natural gas power plant on Eynon Jermyn Road in Archbald will pause until next month following a three-hour conditional use hearing at the Valley View High School auditorium.

Representatives from developer Essential Energy LLC presented findings from their "site, project, and operational safety report," arguing the plant can operate near homes, schools, and parks without posing a significant hazard to the community. Approximately 75 local residents attended the session, which concluded before cross-examination of the project’s technical lead from KCI Technologies could begin.

Archbald Borough Council adjourned the proceedings and scheduled the fifth hearing for Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. in the Valley View High School auditorium.
