
Officials are getting ready for the 61st annual St Patrick's parade to step off Saturday morning in downtown Scranton. According to parade organizers and city officials it is 100% on, even if snow does make an appearance. The day starts with a Mass at St. Peter's Cathedral at 10am and the Brian Kelly Memorial 2 mile footrace at 11am. The parade steps off at 11:45. No parking signs have already gone up along areas of the parade route and will go into effect at 6am Saturday morning. Roads will begin to close at 9:30am.
The St Patrick's Parade in Pottsville is also scheduled to step off at 11am Saturday morning.
The 43rd Wilkes Barre St Patrick's Parade is Sunday. New this year, five giant balloons hovering overhead making their way along the parade route. The Sunday parade steps off at 2pm.
