PSU Board of Trustees to meet privately on closures

The Penn State Board of Trustees are scheduled to meet today to discuss potential campus closures. As reported earlier this week, one of the satellite campuses on the chopping block is Penn State Wilkes-Barre outside Dallas. The report states the campus is being considered for closure "due to persistent enrollment decline, regional redundancy, and operational inefficiencies that limit the campus' long-term viability." The report sent out by university officials says students attending the Wilkes-Barre campus can get the same education at Penn State Scranton, Penn State Hazleton, or through Penn State World Campus.
