A Scranton man has been indicted in U.S. Middle District Court with 41 counts including mail fraud and other charges for allegedly fraudulently receiving more than $850 thousand in pandemic funds. U.S. attorney Attorney Gerard M. Karam made the announcement Wednesday that 42 year old Yoel Weiss allegedly obtained EIDL funds through fraudulent applications, which he then spent on unapproved personal expenses.
