A Lackawanna County judge sentenced a Scranton man to 43½ to 97 years in prison on Monday for the sexual abuse of five children. Tara Glan received the sentence from Judge Michael J. Barrasse after pleading guilty over the last few months to multiple charges stemming from abuse that occurred over several years. Lackawanna County District Attorney Brian Gallagher stated that the victims included vulnerable children and a mentally disabled individual, noting that the crimes caused unimaginable trauma.

The District Attorney’s office emphasized that the length of the sentence ensures Glan will likely spend the remainder of his life in prison. Gallagher added that the predator exploited his position to victimize the innocent and that the court's decision effectively removes him from the community permanently. The sentencing concludes five separate cases brought against Glan as a result of the long-term investigation into his actions.
