A Scranton man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for a deadly gas station holdup last year.
Shelton Miles was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder in the March 2024 shooting death of Jose Tatis. In addition to the life sentence, Miles received an extra 20 to 41 years for related charges, including wounding a gas station attendant during the same robbery. Those sentences will run consecutively.
Miles, who was sentenced in May, will now be transferred from the Lackawanna County Jail to a state correctional facility to begin serving his sentence.
