Scranton School District ordered to redo bus contract bidding process

A judge in Lackawanna County has ruled the Scranton School District must rebid for busing services. Judge James Gibbons also granted a preliminary injunction which had been asked for by a local business which said it was not given the correct bidding information for the contract. Earlier this year, the district awarded a 5 year busing contract to a company based in Punxsutawney. The agreement with the current provider, DeNaples Transportation expires this summer.
