KINGSTON — A second juvenile has died following a devastating house fire on North Welles Street late Wednesday night. Authorities confirmed that the 13-year-old victim passed away from his injuries after being rescued by firefighters alongside his 11-year-old brother, who died shortly after the blaze. Both boys were students at Wyoming Valley West Middle School. The fire, which broke out just before 11:30 p.m., forced their father and sister to jump from a second-story window to safety while their mother was asleep on the first floor. Fire officials believe the fire originated on the first floor of the unit where the family of five resided, though state police fire marshals have not found the cause to be suspicious. The local school district is providing counseling services as the community mourns the loss of the two brothers.
