EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. — Six teenagers face burglary charges after police allegedly caught them breaking into a local home on Tuesday, according to West Side Regional Police.

Officers initially responded to a residence at 155 Jackson St. following reports of a break-in. Upon arrival, police discovered that the home had been forcibly entered and extensively ransacked. Officers contacted the homeowner to secure the property and conducted an area canvas, which located two juveniles, though police could not immediately link them to the crime.

Police later returned to the property and discovered six juveniles actively breaking into the home. Officers arrested three boys inside the house and three other boys waiting outside.

The suspects, who range in age from 13 to 17, initially refused to provide their names to investigators. They were later identified as residents of Wilkes-Barre, Edwardsville, and Swoyersville. Police noted that one of the 15-year-old suspects had previously been reported as a missing person out of Edwardsville.

Following their arrest and identification, authorities released the teenagers into the custody of their parents or legal guardians. Burglary and related criminal charges are currently pending.
