HARRISBURG, Pa. — State Representative Bridget Kosierowski announced Tuesday that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer, using her personal diagnosis to advocate for the life-saving importance of regular medical checkups.

Kosierowski, a Democrat representing Pennsylvania's 114th Legislative District in Lackawanna County, shared the personal news through a video message posted to her official social media accounts. She disclosed that the cancer was detected early through a routine health screening, which she noted heavily improves treatment outcomes.

A registered nurse with over 25 years of experience in the healthcare sector, Kosierowski was first elected to the state House during a 2019 special election. Throughout her legislative career, she has frequently championed public health initiatives and expanded healthcare access.

Kosierowski assured her constituents that she will continue her legislative duties while undergoing treatment. Her government offices in both Harrisburg and Lackawanna County will remain fully operational to serve the public.
