SUGARLOAF TWP., Pa. — The Sugarloaf Township Board of Supervisors voted to deny a developer's request for another extension on a land development plan during its regular meeting on Wednesday.

The decision halts progress for Sugarloaf Logistics, which has been seeking approval since at least 2022 to construct two warehouse buildings along Tomhicken Road. The developer was previously granted a 45-day extension at the May 19 supervisors' meeting, which is set to expire on July 4.

According to the meeting agenda, Sugarloaf Logistics attorney Kevin Fogarty requested an additional 180-day extension, arguing that delays were caused by the approval process for the township's Act 537 sewage facilities plan and were not the fault of the developer.

The zoning complications arose after the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection ruled that on-lot sewage systems cannot be installed at the proposed site. Despite these issues, Sugarloaf Logistics maintained that it had met all necessary conditions for the township to approve the land development plan.
